The Second Annual West Coast Haunters Convention
Hello haunt and Halloween fans!

The 2011 West Coast Haunters Convention is rapidly approaching! Can you believe a year has passed already?
Our second WCHC promises to be a great event. We have been able to secure some awesome workshops for you this year. We listened to your requests and did our best to bring in the workshop you asked for.
A full run down of the classes as of this mailing can be found on the web site. Speaking of things you can find there, you can also find lodging information, class schedules, and we are now adding speaker bios and very soon the floor plan for the tradeshow. The official hotel of the convention is the Keizer Renaissance; they are offering a great rate to us which includes free breakfast. We do have two other hotels on board this year; they too are listed on the web site.
Our keynote speaker this year is Rick Massey of Massey homes, Rick and his team were the unsung heroes of OSD last year when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition came to our school and totally re build the haunt! When it was decided the OSD was going to receive the makeover, the builder Rich Duncan called on long time competitor Rick Massey to help build the haunt. Building a partial dorm and a haunt was a daunting task to say the least, so Rick stepped in and took over the haunted house.
Rick and the designers from EMHE gathered together a ‘haunters dream team’ to complete the task of tearing out what was left of the Nightmare Factory, then build a new ‘high tech’ haunt in under 7 days!
We are very excited to have Rick and possible some of the others that were involved share their stories with you.
Some of the other classes featured this year will be a foam carving class with the Davis graveyard, several new makeup seminars. An all day mask making workshop with the Wolfe Brothers (there is a fee for this class and space is limited to 10, let us know if you are interested).
There will be acting workshops, lighting workshops, sound design seminars, security and safety classes, we have a full three days ready for you.
This year’s haunt tours are still being worked out, we know for sure we’ll be opening the Nightmare Factory for you on Friday the 13th, $5.00 gets you both a lights on and lights off tour of the haunt, Q and A with Ed, and we’ll even show you how all the secrets work too!
The tradeshow for this year’s WCHC already has twice as many exhibitors than last year and we still have room for more! We are thrilled to welcome back those that were with us last year and many new companies. A tradeshow floor plan will go up this weekend!
So there you have it, the 2011 WCHC is on the way, the question is… Will we see you there?! I sure hope so… Ed Roberts
