I'm pretty new around here, but I love the idea of a community specific to haunters in the often over-looked pacific northwest. Sadly, the boards appear very under-used, disspite a registered member list over 100 users and a few years of history. As I post this I see only 8 other topics. It seems a shame.

So how about we put our heads together and brainstorm some ways to increase involvement. I mean, what stuff, what things, would bring everybody out of the woodwork?

More how to? Some local gatherings? Newsletter?
Just hoping you'll all chime in with your thoughts. Don't be shy. Sure, some people hear mey bite, but that's what fangs are for.

Totally agree, haunting_dw! Although this site has been around for about 5 years, it has largely been a work in progress. This 2010 season however is the first time we've really been looking to promote it. So hopefully things will start to pick up around here. And yes, by all means, if you have any suggestions at all, please share 'em! We do get PLENTY of traffic this time of year, and it's all targeted around Halloween fans here in the northwest. So it's a great resource for anyone looking to promote their pro or yard haunt for free (submit news to the homepage, submit your weblink, post in the message boards, etc.) or simply meet and get to know others in the local haunt community. Another great resource is the West Coast Haunters Convention in May, so be sure to mark your calendar for that as well.

Thanks again for the great post!

...and please, keep the suggestions coming.
