Frightfest BC in entering its third year and with the passage of time we have seen a marked increase in participants and with that a huge increase of talent. FFBC is the only gathering of Halloween Prop Builders in western Canada and has had attendees from hundreds, if not thousands of miles away.

It started out humble with just a few simple techniques and a handful of cautious strangers meeting one fall weekend and has since turned into an event which includes more advanced pneumatic and electronic props. An offshoot of Frightfest NW out of Portland, FFBC is sure to follow the popularity of its sister organization.

HauntedNight.com was launched in 2005 by Jody Bossert when he noticed a strong national haunt community, but found very few resources that brought together the Pacific Northwest.

Jody began haunting in 1997 with a simple haunted warehouse party in Everett, Washington. The party became an annual event throughout the Puget Sound with festivities in such places as Kirkland, Seattle (Fremont), and ultimately Woodinville where in 2008 he organized the "Beers & Fears" event at Red Hook Brewery. It was only the 2nd time the brewery implemented a cover charge. With bands on two floors and an amazing costume contest, it was a smashing sold-out success. In 2009 Jody met Destry Wood who had been the construction manager for the now defunct Rosehill Haunted House in Mukilteo, WA. Together, and with the help of many wonderful, dedicated volunteers, they put on their first haunted attraction - an indoor 3D haunted house titled "Clown Cemetery". The two learned a lot that first year, including the fact that while many people will pay to be scared, clowns are where a good portion of them draw the line! They may work as a sideshow haunt, but probably shouldn't be the main theme. So, in 2010 they permanently rebranded their haunt as the Haunted Nightmare Haunted House.

HauntedNight.com is the perfect resource to find other haunters throughout the west coast. While there are hundreds of haunting community web sites on a national level, it's rather pointless to advertise your yard haunt to someone on the east coast, or find people to trade props with that live in another state, or post an ad for local haunt actors to a national audience. HauntedNight.com is also the perfect resource for anyone that wants to find out where all the exciting west coast haunted attractions are throughout the month of October.

HauntedNight.com also strives to be your number one resource for industry news, both locally and nationally. In addition, our goal is to support local haunters by helping them promote their haunt. If you have a press release or article that you would like to publish on HauntedNight.com, by all means, register and post it! If it's haunting in nature and appropriate for the general public, we'll gladly approve the submission.

So come, get involved, share your prop building secrets in our Forums of Fear, post a web link to your haunted house in our directory, whatever! Perhaps you have some comments and suggestions that would make HauntedNight.com even better. We've created a category for that in our Forums.

Happy Halloween and happy haunting!
