Training Classes to Serve Haunted Attraction Industry Professionals and Enthusiasts

The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) offers weekend seminars June 4-5, 2011 in Columbus Ohio at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Five tracks of education are presented: Acting, Makeup, Props, Haunt Business, and Haunt Design. The seminars are instructed by industry experts and serve participants with skills ranging from beginner to advanced levels and backgrounds ranging from haunt owners to Halloween fans.

The MHC Weekend Seminars are available for $85 in advance (through or $99 onsite. Seminars will be held on Saturday June, 4, 2011 from 9:30 – 11 am, 12:30 – 2 pm, and 2:45 – 4:15. Seminars on Sunday June 5, 2011 will be at 10:30 am -12:00 pm and 1:30 – 3 pm.

MHC Weekend Workshops

The MHC offers weekend workshops June 3-5, 2011 in Columbus Ohio at the Columbus Hyatt Regency and Greater Columbus Convention Center on an individual pay per class basis (and are not included as part of the MHC Weekend Seminars.) Registration costs range from $35 – $200. Three tracks of education are presented in 3 hour workshops:

Haunt Business: Getting Started in the Haunted Attraction Industry-Part 1& 2

Midwest Haunters Convention

The Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) is the largest Halloween show of its kind in the US serving a primary audience of Haunted Attraction Producers, Actors, Artists and Home Haunters. It features a 60,000 square foot vendor trade show with over 100 vendor booths – and provides regional businesses and residents the opportunity to shop for professional quality Halloween related products. The MHC Trade Show is free and open to the public with registration; and is held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio June 4-5, 2011.

The MHC provides educational seminars and workshops and networking activities for haunted attraction industry professionals. The 2011 MHC features the world’s largest haunted attraction bus tour as well as a Monster Masquerade costume party featuring a the Body Art Fashion Show and contests including the Bloody Mary Monster Makeup Wars Competition, Ms Midwest Scary Pageant (featured by AOL Online as one of the Top 10 Freakiest Attractions in the US) & the Scariest Character Contest.
